Three rules to recover from Plantar Fasciitis

Many people my age, including me, struggle with this nuisance.  Here's what's working for me:

  1.  Never walk around your house barefoot.  Every time you do, you re-injure your feet.
  2. At bedtime and upon arising, sit on the edge of the bed and roll a tennis ball under your feet.  Go all they way, from heel to toe.
  3. Get good, supportive inserts for your shoes.
I don't hike 17 mile days like I used to.  But I can still put in a good day, and enjoy it.  I advise, always: focus on what you can do, not what you used to be able to do.
